Choosing and Ordering Your Splashback

The kitchen has become one of the most enjoyed spaces in our homes – opening out to become family rooms, with areas to eat, sit and relax together. As more people embark on the excitement of designing or renovating a new kitchen, there is plenty to consider and here at Norwich Glass Company we know how personal these decisions are and how important it is to get all parts of the design process and installation just right.

Alongside colour schemes, the style of the units, the type of work surface, flooring and appliance, we would advise you not to forget a splashback, as they can create a real wow factor to any kitchen. Whether you want a bold colour to feature against a neutral colour scheme, a light colour to open up a small space or a complementary colour to match other interior design elements, our friendly and experienced team at Norwich Glass Company are here to help.

Technical information
Our coloured splashbacks are made from 6mm low iron toughened safety glass, which is safe to use in heated areas, around hobs and ovens, and if it was to break, there would be no dangerous sharp glass shards to worry about.

We apply the paint to glass which has a low iron content, which means the paint does not react to the glass. If paint is used with other glass types, there is a risk of the paint developing a green tinge and the colour not being as you expect.

Colour choice
We know that choosing the right colour for your splashback can be a big decision and to help you, we offer a range of standard colours along with the ability to colour match, against any leading paint brand.

You can be assured that the end product will be a continuous, smooth opaque finish, which can be fixed to the wall with strong adhesive or with screws (recommended for clear glass splashbacks) – which is easy to clean and will look stunning.

How to order
There are two simple ways to order your splashback:

  1. Shop online
If you know your colour choice and have standard measurements, in a square or rectangle shape, sized between 200mm x 100mm and 2100mm x 1100mm, and don’t need any additional cut outs or notches, you can order through our online shop. We recommend following the information on our ‘how to measure’ guide, to ensure your glass splashback is the perfect fit.
  2. Bespoke design
If your design has non-standard measurements, requires cut outs or notches, we can provide you with a bespoke quote. To help us, we would need details of the kitchen plan – drawings or photographs with accurate measurements on, or if you are local to Norwich and would like us to double check your measurements, we can arrange for a member of the team to visit your property and conduct a survey. To help you provide accurate measurements for your splashback, we recommend you follow the instructions on our ‘splashback measurements guide’. Please note that the bottom of the splashback must sit on a solid edge and not be left unsupported.
